Target Audience: Grade 11 and Grade 12 students (ages 16-18)

Curriculum Description: This elite seminar is a capstone experience for advanced literature students. It brings together the most challenging and influential works from the Western canon, requiring students to engage in deep reading, critical analysis, and thoughtful discussion. Students will study Machiavelli, Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Joyce, Woolf, Kafka, Morrison, and García Márquez — authors whose works demand maturity, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to grapple with complex ideas. Each lesson includes interactive activities, podcasts, and quizzes to reinforce learning.

Prerequisites: Completion of at least 3 other Literature curriculums (LT1-LT9) strongly recommended.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this seminar, students will be able to engage in sophisticated literary analysis, compare and contrast major works across cultures and periods, evaluate the philosophical and moral questions raised by great literature, and articulate their own interpretations with clarity and evidence.
