Death Valley in California is the lowest point in North America at 86 meters (282 feet) below sea level. It also holds the record for the highest recorded air temperature on Earth (56.7°C / 134°F in 1913).

The Rocky Mountains stretch over 4,800 km (3,000 mi) from northern British Columbia in Canada to New Mexico in the United States, making them the longest mountain range in North America.

Canada has the longest coastline of any country in the world, measuring over 202,080 kilometers (125,567 miles) due to its numerous islands and deeply indented Arctic shoreline.

Central America is a subregion of North America consisting of 7 countries: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. The Panama Canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Greenland is the world's largest island and is an independent country. Its ice sheet covers about 80% of its surface and contains enough water to raise global sea levels by 7 meters (23 feet) if completely melted.
