Asia is the largest continent by both land area and population, covering about 30% of Earth's land and home to over 4.7 billion people, which represents approximately 60% of the global population.

The Himalayas, the world's highest mountain range, were formed by the collision of the Indian Plate with the Eurasian Plate, a process that began about 50 million years ago and continues today.

The Gobi Desert is located primarily in northern China and southern Mongolia. It is a cold desert, experiencing temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F) in winter.

The Yangtze River (Chang Jiang) is the longest river in Asia and the third-longest in the world, flowing entirely within China from the Tibetan Plateau to the East China Sea.

Japan is located on the "Ring of Fire" and experiences about 1,500 earthquakes annually, most of which are too small to be felt. The country also has over 100 active volcanoes.

The Arabian Peninsula is the largest peninsula in the world, containing countries such as Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

The Mekong River flows through six countries: China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It is the longest river in Southeast Asia and supports one of the world's largest inland fisheries.

Lake Baikal in Siberia, Russia, is the deepest freshwater lake in the world (maximum depth 1,642 m / 5,387 ft) and contains about 20% of the world's unfrozen surface fresh water.

India has the second-largest population in Asia, after China. Its capital is Mumbai, which is also its largest city and financial center.

The country of Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago, consisting of over 17,000 islands, including Sumatra, Java, Borneo (shared with Malaysia and Brunei), Sulawesi, and New Guinea (shared with Papua New Guinea).
